Theory of Plasticity

In 1909 A. Haar and T. von Karman have published a papers, where the attempt was made to display the basic equations of the theory of plasticity from the variational principle. In the article of R. von Mises (1913), the system of equations of Saint-Venant – Levi was supplemented by another condition of plasticity (which was well received by M. Huber in 1904). Later, Genk, L. Prandtl and von Mises got the basic equations of the different variants of the theory of plasticity and plane strain problem. In 40-ies of XX century results of experimental verification of various hypotheses have been published, with the methods of solving of some problems of plasticity. A. Il'ushin developed solution schemes for problems of plasticity using Elasticity theory. This made connection between theory of Plasticity and theory of Elasticity. Wide range of scientific literature about Plasticity and Elasticity-Plasticity theory is available, but the discussion about this is not the purpose of the report. The report is devoted to the short review of basis of the theory of Plasticity.
