Investigation of enantioseparation mechanisms in high-performance liquid chromatography with novel polysaccharide-based chiral stationary phases

In the frame of the present project in 2015 studies were performed in the following 3 directions: 1) Influence of the nature of a chiral selector and the mobile phase on the elution order of enantiomers of chiral beta-blockers; 2) Separation of enantiomers of chiral weak organic acids in high-performance liquid chromatography by using polysaccharide-based chiral columns and polar-organic mobile phases. 3) Separation of enantiomers of chiral agrochemicals of basic nature in high-performance liquid chromatography. These studies were performed by using 6 new chiral columns based on cellulose and amylose derivatives. Pure polar organic solvents, as well as aqueous organic solvents were used as mobile phases. The results of these studies were published in 3 papers in international journals [1-3] and one manuscript is in preparation. The results were also presented on several international and national conferences. Together with the staff members of the Chair of Physical and Analytical Chemistry 3 bachelor-degree students were also employed in the present project. References: 1. Kh. Gogaladze, L.
